Billa is a work aiming to convey that public art and sculpture can be functional and educational, not solely dependent on human engagement. Artwork should interact with the broader environment, fostering connections with nature and support a diverse audience, including the wildlife we share space with. I have incorporated a selection of local botanical materials cast into my work’s surface—plants that hold significance to this site. This highlights the delicate connection and interplay between the local ecosystem and the array of wildlife essential for its survival.
