Mark’s engagement with inflatable structures spans over 35 years, beginning with early experiments using plastic film and duct tape. These formative works established his enduring interest in the sculptural potential of single-cell inflated forms and set the tone for a practice that balances immediacy with spatial ambition. Over time, Mark has refined his approach through extensive experimentation and collaborative projects—most notably with Back to Back Theatre—where inflatables have been deployed as large-scale performance spaces. These collaborations explore the intersection of design, sculpture, and embodied experience, pushing the boundaries of what inflatable architecture can be in both artistic and public contexts.
