Movies on the Lawn Continues with The Secret Life of Pets on July 6 at Crab Meadow Beach

This year is the fourteenth season of the Movies on the Lawn program hosted by Councilman Mark Cuthbertson, the Town of Huntington. This year’s lineup will have something for everyone to enjoy.

"This is great family entertainment. Pack up your picnic supper, blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy this summer's movie line-up,” said Cuthbertson. "With every passing year, the crowd of movie-goers multiplies so it's wise to arrive at each venue a little early. We plan to have some fun things to see and do before each show. Our thanks to our main sponsors – Huntington Honda and Dairy Queen, along with Jonathan’s Ristorante of Huntington Village, LaCasa at Crab Meadow Beach, the Mercurio Basketball Camp of Greenlawn and the School of Rock of Huntington for co-sponsoring this year’s line-up.”

The summer movies series continues with a “drive-in” showing of “THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS” (Rated PG) on Thursday, July 6 at Crab Meadow Beach in Northport.

This animated tale tells the story of a quiet life of a terrier named Max, whose life is upended when his owner takes in Duke, a stray whom Max instantly dislikes. [RAIN DATE: JULY 13TH]

Come early to greet some of the residents of the Town’s Animal Shelter, as the Shelter kicks off their “Free Pet Adoption Weekend” event at the July 6 movie.

All movies begin at darkness (between 8:30-9:00 pm). It is suggested that you pack lawn chairs, including the drive-in performances, in the event the drive-in lot fills early. Overflow parking is available and bus service brings people and their belongings to the beach. In the event of inclement weather on the “Rain Date,” the movie will be held indoors at the ELWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL auditorium, 478 Elwood Road, Elwood and begin at 7:30 pm.
