Huntington Community First Aid Squad Honored

I joined County Executive Steve Bellone to present a proclamation to honor the first responders from the Huntington Community First Aid Squad for their speedy response in caring for and stabilizing Police Officer Mark Collins, who was shot the evening of March 11, 2015.  Paramedic Chris Evers and First Deputy Chief Dominick Heavey recounted the efforts of the HCFAS first responders in assessing Police Officer Mark Collins’ injuries and keeping him stable for transport to Level 1 trauma center at Stony Brook Medical Center. Police Commissioner Ed Webber thanked the HCFAS members for their swift medical actions that night, and Edward Brady, Commanding Officer from the 2nd Precinct, read a letter from Police Officer Mark Collins extending his sincere gratitude and thanking all of the HCFAS volunteers  for their service.
