The Town of Huntington held its annual Women’s Networking Day program on Thursday, October 26 which pays tribute to the outstanding women in our community. Councilman Mark Cuthbertson honored local resident and humanitarian, Marie Michele Destil.
“I was proud to recognize Marie Michele Destil of Dix Hills who has been a passionate and selfless humanitarian,” stated Councilman Mark Cuthbertson. “Following Hurricane Matthew’s devastating landfall in Haiti last year, we partnered on a ‘Help for Haiti’ relief effort that benefitted the ‘Meds & Food for Kids’ Haitian charity,” added Cuthbertson.
The “Help for Haiti” event helped to raise funds and awareness of a much needed humanitarian effort following this impactful storm. All proceeds benefitted the “Meds & Food for Kids” Haitian charity, which is a 501(3) (c) organization that is devoted to saving the lives of Haiti’s children.
