The Town of Huntington and Stimson Middle School Celebrate Arbor Day 2016

Peter Nelson Park in Huntington Station will be a little greener, thanks to a group of students from Stimson Middle School’s Government Leadership Program who participated in the Town’s Arbor Day celebration on May 4th. Over 45 new saplings were planted as part of the event, and they will be joined by an additional placement of twelve medium-caliper trees within the next few weeks.

“My special thanks to South Huntington School District Superintendent, Dr. David P. Bennardo and Stimson Middle School Principal, Edwin Smith, Stimson Middle School Assistant Principal, Anthony Sansotta, teacher, Sharon Smith and all of the students who braved the unseasonable elements to support our annual program,” stated Councilman Mark Cuthbertson.

And a Big thanks to Christian Granelli and David Kaufman from the Town’s Planning Department for helping to make this year's Arbor Day celebration such a success.
