Program for Teens and Parents on Dangers of Distracted Driving

Huntington, NY – In today’s fast-paced digital world, “multitasking” is a way of life. For teens and parents alike, multitasking while driving a motor vehicle can prove to be a deadly combination.

“Multitasking with smartphones and other mobile devices are designed to make it easier for us to connect and communicate with the world around us,” stated Councilman Mark Cuthbertson. “However, the dangers of multitasking while behind the wheel could be the difference between life and death. This program will educate teens on the perils of distracted driving and how to keep them safe while on the road,” added Cuthbertson.

Councilman Cuthbertson will be partnering with the Town of Huntington Youth Bureau, Empower, Assist & Care [EAC] Network and the Suffolk County Traffic & Parking Violations Agency to present a FREE program on the Dangers of Distracted Driving.

The program will be held at the Cinema Arts Center on Wednesday, June 7 from 7:15pm to 8:00pm. The Cinema Arts Center is located at 423 Park Avenue in Huntington.

Certificates of attendance will be given to all students who attend, which can be submitted to their respective school for 1.5 hours of “community service” credit.
