National Grid Employees Volunteer at Gateway Community Garden

On Wednesday, April 20th, over 70 volunteers from National Grid celebrated Earth Day 2016 by participating in a cleanup event at Gateway Community Garden in Huntington Station. Crews trimmed vegetation, planted flowers, removed debris and installed a drainage system as part of a new rainwater garden.

“I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ken Daly, President of National Grid’s New York Operations for spearheading the April 20th cleanup. And my special thanks to all of the volunteers who did a tremendous job for the environment and community,” remarked Councilman Mark Cuthbertson.
