Last week I was honored to attend the 14th annual Smart Growth Awards organized by Vision Long Island. For over a decade, Vison Long Island has been recognizing municipalities and visionaries who display Smart Growth leadership projects, policies, and initiatives. Awards were given out for mixed-use development, affordable housing, environmental health and safety, and open space preservation.
Congratulations to the Village of Northport and Suffolk County Legislator, Doc Spencer for winning Vision LI’s Environmental Award.
